Not An April Fool’s Joke

Today I actually found time away from studying to just relax.  I went on Google SketchUp and found out how to create a “window” or basically an item you can see through.  I know in a previous post I needed someone to help me figure it out.  The only question I still have is how to create a drawing on curved surfaces.  That still confuses me.  As for now, here is my updated ChocoStrawBuilding:

Spring Break Withdrawal

After the one week of vacation for Spring Break, it was time to get back into the studying mode.  I don’t know about any of you but it’s been kind of hard getting back into the working groove again.  Anyways, before Spring Break officially began, I finished any homework that would be due at the beginning of the first week back from break.  One of those assignments was creating a building in Google SketchUp. It took some time getting used to, but in the end my creativity took the best of me.  I was unable to figure out how to create “glass-looking” windows on the building so I just left out the windows.  On the other hand, I was able to create doors, got accustomed to most of the basic tools, and learned how and where to import pre-created models that I can insert into the picture such as windows, doors, trees, plants, etc.  The following picture is the first building I created in Google SketchUp called the “Chocoberry Building”.  The name came to me after my roommate pointed it out.

If anyone knows how to create “glass-looking” windows or even windows on a curved surface please show me how. I would greatly appreciate it.

On a side note, another project we had to do for our GIS class was to create a map that showed locations of a theme we chose.  The theme/subject I chose were the locations of various wireless phone companies within the state of New Jersey such as Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T, Nextel, and Alltel.  The following link will guide you to the mappler site I created.  http://www.mappleru.com/kferrer/
